Hi Rytis,
I'm sorry to hear about the data loss, especially given its impact on your business.
Unfortunately, Azure's Temporary Storage (D:) drive is designed for nonpersistent data. Its contents can be permanently lost during VM resizing, redeployment, or host maintenance. Microsoft does not provide a supported recovery method for retrieving temporary disk data from a previous physical host.
Given the urgency, please open an Azure technical support case under Virtual Machines and request an immediate review by Azure Compute Support. Include the VM name, subscription ID, resize timestamp, and business impact privately. You can ask whether any recovery options exist, but recovery cannot be guaranteed, and host-level extraction is not a documented service.
Meanwhile, check any application-level backups, external storage, file synchronization, or copies on attached managed disks.
Thank you, and feel free to respond back for more assistance.
