Dear MS learners,

when trying to add a Loop component to my colleague's Notes tab while having a Teams call there is an error message window popping up with the message:

Something went wrong

Your Loop component could not be added. You might not have

permission to create content in this workspace.

How should this be interpreted? Is it really an permissions issues or is this error message expected?

    Hello kronos_014,

Yes, Loop is supported in Microsoft Teams collaborative meeting notes.

The message you received usually means Teams could not create the Loop content in the underlying OneDrive or SharePoint location. This may be caused by your access level, your organization’s Loop policies, or the type of meeting and notes location being used.

    Here what you can try:

    1. Confirm that you can edit the existing meeting notes, not only view them.
    2. Try creating a Loop component in the meeting chat or a regular Teams chat. If that also fails, your Microsoft 365 administrator may need to verify that Loop creation is enabled for Teams.
    3. If the problem occurs only in that colleague’s Notes tab, ask the meeting organizer or note owner to add the component, or create the Loop component in a Teams chat and share its link with the participants.

An administrator can check the Teams Loop and collaborative meeting-notes settings, including the SharePoint tenant settings for Loop.

If the permissions appear correct but the error continues across Teams desktop and web, this may require investigation by your organization’s Microsoft 365 administrator because community contributors cannot inspect tenant policies or back-end storage.Feel free reply back to this post if you need further assistance, I'll be happy to help.
