Hello Sharon,
This usually means the Microsoft 365 Family benefit has not been fully applied to the Microsoft account. Reinstalling OneDrive will not correct it if the account itself is still assigned the free 5 GB quota.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
- Sign in to Services & subscriptions using the exact Microsoft account connected to OneDrive. Confirm that Microsoft 365 Family is shown as shared with this account.
Open Manage OneDrive storage in a browser and refresh the page. If the invitation was recently accepted, allow at least two hours for the storage to update.
If it still shows 5 GB, ask the subscription owner to stop sharing the subscription with this account, then send a new invitation. Accept it using the same account that is signed in to OneDrive.
If the online storage page still shows 5 GB after 48 hours, please contact Microsoft Support and ask them to check the OneDrive storage entitlement. Since this is a user-to-user forum, we cannot access or correct the subscription assignment from here.
Here's how to reach out to the Microsoft Support Team (live chat):
- Go to: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
- In the search box, enter a short description of your issue, then choose "Get Help"
- Scroll down and select Sign in to contact support (please sign in using a personal Microsoft account). Then follow the on-screen prompts to reach Support Team.
Tips:
- Support chat availability may vary by country/region, product, and support hours. If you can't get in touch with a chat agent right away, trying again later or at a different time may help.
- If the support page directs you to the automated assistant, type “I need a live agent” in the chat.
Hopefully your issue will be sorted out soon. Thank you so much for your patience!
