My email all of a sudden doesn't have my signature block links and if I have an attachment it makes me upload to the drive to view it. I need to view it from the email and it's not doing this anymore. Help please

    Hi Susannah D'Arcy,

I understand how disruptive this is, especially when both your signature links and attachment behavior have suddenly changed.

For the signature links, please go to Settings > Accounts > Signatures, open your current signature, and check whether the links are still present and correctly linked. Save the signature again after making any changes.

For the attachment issue, please let us know:

    • Does it happen with all attachments or only certain types?
    • What exactly happens when you click the attachment?
    • Are you using Outlook.com with a personal Microsoft account or Outlook on the web with a work/school account?

A screenshot of the attachment prompt, with personal information removed, would also be helpful. With those details, we can narrow this down without having you make unnecessary changes.

For missing signature or message links in Outlook on the web/new Outlook, first check whether link blocking was turned on:

    1. Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email.
    2. Under Security options, make sure Block attachments, pictures, and links from anyone not in my Safe senders and domains list is unchecked.
    3. Select Save.

For attachments opening as cloud links instead of directly in the message:

    • Outlook can send or show some files as OneDrive links instead of traditional file attachments.
    • Links that start with 1drv.ms are shortened OneDrive attachment links.
    • In Outlook, some file types are blocked from being sent or received directly. In those cases, using OneDrive and sending a link is the recommended method.
    • For received attachments, Outlook supports file preview, which lets attachments be viewed in the Reading Pane by selecting the attachment icon. Potentially unsafe attachment types are blocked.

If the problem is specifically when composing mail and adding files, use Attach File and choose the file from Browse / This Computer if a local copy is needed, instead of choosing a cloud file from OneDrive or SharePoint. If a OneDrive or SharePoint file is selected, Outlook may send a link rather than a copy.
