A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Hello AJedynak,
Sorry about the hassle. Since the folder is already outside OneDrive, this looks like OneDrive holding on to stale sync info rather than a real problem with your files.
On your second point, the 300,000 figure is a recommended sync limit for performance, not a storage cap and not tied to your quota. Going over it can make sync slower, but it shouldn't get your account flagged. Microsoft also started rolling out syncing of up to 1,000,000 items in April 2026 for eligible devices.
Here's what I'd try, in this order:
- Open OneDrive on the web, go to the Recycle bin, and empty it.
- Reset OneDrive: press Windows key + R, run
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset, then reopen OneDrive from Start. Microsoft says this doesn't delete your files, but it will do a full resync. - If the alert is still there, unlink and relink: OneDrive Settings > Account > Unlink this PC, then sign in again and choose Use this folder when prompted.
Before relinking, I'd make sure your Lightroom photos are safely backed up in their new location.
