First, installed Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Database Engine which included shared component SQLNCLI.

The found Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client (SQLNCLI) was EOL, so successful uninstall it.

After that, a Windows Update include Microsoft SQL Server Hotfix applied, then found SQLNCLI was installed at the same date with SQL Server Hotfix.

Anyway to exclude SQLNCLI to reinstall when apply hotfix ?

No, SQL Server Native Client 11 is required to set up linked servers to other SQL Server instances SQL 2017. Uninstalling it is a bad idea.

SQL 2017 is reaching end of life next year, so if you absolutely do not want SQLNCLI, one solution is to upgrade...
