this formula has worked before and now it does not. Is there something wrong with syntax? =COUNTIF('All eLearnings'!C:C,A2)

    Hi Elliott,

The syntax of the formula appears to be correct.

Since the formula worked previously, the issue may be related to a change in the worksheet name, data format, hidden spaces or characters, or Excel’s calculation settings.

To assist you more effectively, could you let me know what happens when you enter the formula?

    • Does it return 0 or an incorrect result?
    • Does Excel display an error message?
    • Does the cell show the formula itself instead of the result?
    • Does the All eLearnings worksheet still have exactly the same name?

You can also try the following:

    1. Press Ctrl + Alt + F9 to force Excel to recalculate the workbook.
    2. Confirm that Formulas > Calculation Options is set to Automatic.
    3. Check whether the value in A2 or column C contains extra spaces or is stored in a different format, such as text instead of a number or date.
    4. Depending on your regional settings, try replacing the comma with a semicolon:

    =COUNTIF('All eLearnings'!C:C;A2)

If possible, share the exact error message or a screenshot showing the formula and its result. Remove any personal or confidential information before posting.

Please feel free to share the information in the comment below. Once I have it, I'll be better positioned to guide you through the next steps.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
