Invitation by main family member

The subscription owner must send the sharing invitation.

1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 sharing page at https://account.microsoft.com/services/office/sharing using the account that owns the Microsoft 365 Family subscription.
2. Select Share or Start sharing.
3. Choose one of these options:
   • Email invite: enter the family member’s email address and select Invite.
   • Create link or Invite via link: copy the link and send it by message.
4. The invited person must open the invitation, sign in with their Microsoft account, select Get started, and then Join now.

Important details:

• Only the subscription account holder can share the subscription.
• Microsoft 365 Family can be shared with up to five other people.
• If the invited person is already in another Microsoft family group, they must leave that group before joining.
• The invitation must be accepted within 48 hours.
• Product keys are not used for sharing a Microsoft 365 Family subscription.

If the invitation was not received:

1. Confirm the preferred email address was used.
2. Check the junk mail folder for a message with Microsoft 365 in the subject.
3. If needed, resend the invite from the sharing page.
