Problem

When I right-click a file in File Explorer and open the OneDrive Share / "Copy link" window on an external monitor, the window expands as I type in the message box until it overflows the screen. The Send / Copy buttons end up off-screen.

Environment

  • Windows 11
  • OneDrive desktop app version 26.173.0906.0008
  • Laptop display scaling: 150%
  • External monitor scaling: 100%
  • Reproduced on multiple PCs in our environment, not just one.

Observations

  • If I open the Share window on the laptop screen, it works normally.
  • If I set the external monitor to 150% (same as the laptop), the problem disappears. At 125% it still happens.

What I already tried (no effect)

  • Compatibility > Change high DPI settings > Override high DPI scaling behavior (Application) on OneDrive.exe
  • Setting external monitor to 125%
  • Restarting OneDrive

Workarounds

  • Copy link from the right-click menu, or move the Explorer window to the laptop screen before sharing.

Question

Is this a known bug in the Share window (WebView) when monitors have different DPI scaling? Is there a fix or a recommended setting, other than making both monitors use the same scaling?

    Hello,

This is a symptom of a DPI scaling bug that happens when a native app frame hosts a modern WebView2 component across screens with differing zoom levels. Every time you press a key in the message box, the embedded web page triggers a visual reflow.

I want to gather a bit more diagnostic data before figuring out the best override target or configuration change for your multi-computer environment.

Could you check your Windows display settings and tell me which monitor is currently designated as your main display? Along with that, please pull up your installed Windows apps list and grab the exact version number shown for the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime on one of the affected machines.
