    Hello Andrea Anil,

I’m sorry you lost access to the Office apps included with your laptop after the motherboard replacement, especially after Lenovo directed you to Microsoft.

    To contact Microsoft:

    • Open Microsoft Support and sign in.
    • Select Office or Microsoft 365, then describe the activation issue.
    • After the self-help options, choose Contact Support if available and select the contact method offered.

Available options vary, so a callback may not always appear. Keep your purchase invoice, Lenovo repair documents, and any activation error ready to share privately with support.

Support can assess the activation problem, but whether the license can be restored depends on the product and license involved.

When a laptop's motherboard is replaced, Microsoft's activation servers register the device as a completely new computer. This is why you lost access to your pre-installed apps (like Word and PowerPoint), as OEM licenses are tied to the original hardware's specific digital signature. The most effective way to help her is to direct her to the official Microsoft Support website or the built-in Windows Get Help app to initiate a live chat or callback, advising her to keep her original purchase invoice and Lenovo repair documents on hand so the agent can manually authenticate and restore her software license.
