Sent an email and some addresses did not appear. When I forwarded the email at a later date, the missing email addresses where there. How did this happen?

    Hello Premilla,

    Thank you for your question.

There are a couple of things that could explain what you noticed. Outlook may shorten the recipient information displayed in a message header, so some addresses might not be immediately visible. However, forwarding an email does not normally add recipients to the original message.

First, let's check the original email:

    1. Open Sent Items in classic Outlook.

    Select the original email.

Look at the message header in the Reading Pane. If you see a small arrow or a + next to the recipient information, select it to expand the header and show the full recipient list.

Check the To, Cc, and Bcc fields.

If you sent the original email using Bcc, you should be able to see those addresses in your Sent Items. They are hidden from the other recipients by design.

    Microsoft provides instructions here:

Show, hide, and view the Bcc field in Outlook for Windows

Could you clarify one thing: When you forwarded the email, did the missing addresses appear in the new To/Cc fields at the top, or in the original email details included below your forwarded message?

That distinction will help identify whether this was simply a display issue or something different with the original message.

    Best regards,
