Displaying your screen content to others during a Teams meeting or call for collaboration
Teams does not provide a setting to permanently hide the presenter toolbar, but leaving it unpinned lets it auto-collapse after you move the pointer away.
Auto-collapse the toolbar
- Start sharing your screen.
- Move the pointer to the top of the shared screen to display the presenter toolbar.
- If Pin is active, select it to unpin the toolbar.
- Move the pointer away from the toolbar.
The toolbar remains visible momentarily and then retracts. Moving the pointer back to the top of the shared screen brings it down again. The toolbar is visible only to the presenter, not meeting participants. ^1^
If it still obstructs controls
Drag the toolbar elsewhere:
- Hold its drag handle, move it away from the browser tabs or menu bar, and release it.
- Alternatively, drag from any noninteractive space between the toolbar controls.
- Do not select Pin afterward unless you want it to remain fixed at that location. ^1^
There is no documented user toggle or Teams meeting policy for completely disabling this toolbar. Teams administrators can control whether users may share an entire screen or a single application, but the documented content-sharing policy does not include presenter-toolbar visibility. ^2^
If the toolbar remains permanently expanded while unpinned, that differs from the documented behavior. Update or restart the Teams client and report the behavior through Settings and more → Help → Give feedback, including the Teams version and operating system.
