A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Since you are using both Chinese and English, I will use English for now because it matches the forum language. If you want me to use Chinese to communicate, please let me know. I will be happy to use the language you are comfortable with.
Hello lp00102
Thank you for providing the detailed reproduction steps.
This does not appear to be the usual Word read-only, activation, or OneDrive storage issue. Word is opening the document correctly, but selecting text in a file carrying the Windows Read-only attribute appears to be incorrectly invoking a connected-experience component.
Since the same behavior occurs on two computers, with different Word builds, and even in Safe Mode, an add-in is unlikely to be responsible. It may instead be related to the Office privacy-consent state associated with the account or to a Word regression involving read-only files.
Please try the following:
- In Word, open File > Account > Account Privacy > Manage Settings and confirm the connected-experience options you want to use are enabled.
- Close all Office applications, restart Windows, and sign back into Word.
- Open File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
- Create a new document in a local folder outside OneDrive, such as
C:\Temp, and test it before and after applying the Windows Read-only attribute. - If the pop-up appears only after that attribute is applied, run an Online Repair from Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft 365 > Modify > Online Repair.
Enabling connected experiences does not automatically move locally stored documents to the cloud. The storage location and AutoSave settings remain separate.
If the behavior continues after an Online Repair, there does not appear to be a documented setting that disables only this selection trigger. Please reproduce the issue and submit it through Help > Feedback > Report a problem, including the two Word version and build numbers and the fact that it also occurs in Safe Mode.
This will provide the Word product team with the diagnostic information needed to investigate it as a possible product bug.
Feel free reply back to this post if you need further assistance, I'll be happy to help.
