Initial steps or instructions to begin using Microsoft Q&A
Sign in to the Microsoft Learn profile containing the CloudThat certificates, then add the Gmail Microsoft account under Settings → Account Management → Add login account; because that Gmail account already has another Learn profile, Microsoft Learn should trigger a profile merge.
Merge the profiles
- Sign out of all Microsoft accounts or use an InPrivate/incognito browser window.
- Sign in to Microsoft Learn using the CloudThat work account containing most of your certificates.
- Select your profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Under Account Management, select Add login account.
- Sign in with the Gmail personal Microsoft account containing the other certificate.
- Follow the displayed merge confirmation.
Adding a login account that belongs to another Learn profile triggers the merge. The Gmail profile’s certification, transcript, achievements, and learning progress will be combined with the signed-in CloudThat profile.^1^
Afterward, open Profile → Credentials → Certifications and verify that all certificates appear. You should be able to access the merged profile using either linked login.
Important conditions
- A merge is supported only when no more than one of the profiles contains a personal Microsoft login account. Your Gmail account is normally personal and the CloudThat account is normally organizational, so this arrangement should qualify.^2^
- The merge is irreversible.
- Duplicate learning records are removed.
- Do not delete either Learn profile before merging; deleting a profile permanently removes its credentials and learning data.
- Keep the Gmail personal account linked. If employment ends and the CloudThat account is disabled, the personal login preserves access to the merged certifications. Microsoft cannot recover a profile when its only login is an inaccessible work or school account.^2^
If the merge still fails
Record the exact error message and check whether either profile already has another personal Microsoft account linked. Learn allows only one personal login account per profile; exceeding that condition prevents the direct merge.^2^
Do not post email addresses, passwords, certificates, or account identifiers publicly. If account access or the one-personal-account restriction prevents the self-service merge, use Microsoft Credentials Support from the certification FAQ and provide both Learn usernames privately; the Learn username is available under Profile icon → Settings → Personal info, username and URL.^2^
