I completed the microsoft bing rewards offer, I got the code send via email. I made a new Spotify account and when I put in the code sent by Microsoft Rewards, says code not valid. Why?

Hello, sorry for this issue that you have encountered.

If you are using a new account and you have already checked and tried this multiple times, the next step is to submit a ticket via https://rewards.bing.com/supportfor this to get checked internally by the rewards team.

Response times may vary due to workload or other tasks at hand, but rest assured that they will review your case and let you know on the outcome.

Open the Spotify reward from Microsoft Rewards Order history and redeem it through the exact link or code shown under View detail, rather than manually reusing the code copied from the email.

    Try the issued reward again

    1. Sign in to Microsoft Rewards with the Microsoft account that completed the offer.
    2. Select Redeem → Order history.
    3. Find “Up to 5 months of Spotify Premium—on us.”
    4. Select View detail/Order Details.
    5. Check that the order status is not cancelled, then use the displayed redemption link or copy the code exactly. You can also select Resend to obtain a fresh copy of the confirmation email. ^1^
    6. Complete redemption from that dedicated link rather than Spotify’s normal gift-card redemption page.

Microsoft specifically recommends checking the correct redemption code or link when a code is reported as invalid. Because Spotify is a non-Microsoft reward, a code that remains invalid must be investigated by Microsoft Rewards Customer Support. ^2^

    Check the promotion eligibility

Creating a new Spotify account does not necessarily establish eligibility. The published offer is:

    • For Spotify Premium Individual
    • Limited to one offer per person/account
    • Available only within the stated promotional period and while supplies last ^3^

Also check whether the person redeeming has previously used Spotify Premium or a Premium trial. Similar cases report that prior Premium history can make the account ineligible even when a new Spotify account was created. ^4^

If Order Details still produces “invalid”

Submit the Microsoft Rewards Support form linked from the Microsoft Rewards help page. Include:

    • Reward/order date and order number
    • Screenshot of the order status
    • Screenshot of Spotify’s “code is invalid” message
    • Confirmation that the code/link came directly from Order Details
    • Country/region of both accounts
    • Whether that person has ever had Spotify Premium or a trial

Do not post the actual code publicly. Microsoft Rewards Support is the appropriate escalation because Microsoft issued this third-party promotion. ^2^
