Why am I being flagged for an AI account if I am clearly human?

Clearly I am human and now I can not get into my account. I am not waiting to sign back in because your system is flawed. I have things I have to do on my documents that I now cannot do due to your system failing.

    Hello,

    1. What exact error message do you see when you sign in to your Microsoft account online?
    2. Is your account locked, or are you having trouble getting past the “Help us beat robots” screen?

Does the same issue occur in a different browser, on another device, or on a different network? Have you tried signing in using a private or incognito window?

The message “Please wait and sign back in” does not establish that Microsoft classified you as AI; first test the personal Microsoft account outside Word, then use the matching account-recovery or Office-repair path below.

    1. Determine whether the account or only Word is blocked

Open a private/incognito browser window and sign in at https://account.microsoft.com.

    • If the browser says the account is locked: complete the verification shown there. If “Let’s prove you’re human” is unavailable, select the aka.ms/... reinstatement link displayed in the lock window and submit the form. Do not submit duplicate requests, because Microsoft says that can delay review.^1^
    • If asked for a security code: choose an available email address or phone number, receive the code, and enter it. Microsoft can request this after a sign-in from a new device or location, or after a new app uses the account.^2^
    • If the browser accepts the account: the account itself is accessible, so proceed to the Word-specific steps below.

There is no documented method to bypass a security restriction from inside Word.

    2. If the account works in a browser but Word does not

    1. Close every Office application.
    2. Open Word → File → Account.
    3. Sign out of every account listed there.
    4. Close Word and restart Windows.
    5. Reopen Word and sign in with the exact personal Microsoft account that owns—or receives sharing from—the Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription.
    6. Go to File → Account → Update Options → Update Now.

This sign-out/restart/sign-in sequence is the accepted resolution for a closely matching Windows case where an active Microsoft 365 Personal subscription was blocked from editing.^3^

If that fails, open the Windows Get Help app, enter sign in to Microsoft Office, and run the Microsoft 365 sign-in troubleshooter.

    3. Continue working urgently

If browser sign-in succeeds, use Word for the web while the desktop sign-in is repaired. If browser sign-in fails because the account itself is locked, this workaround will not be available.

    4. Escalate an unresolved personal-account restriction

Use Microsoft’s personal-account support page and start the sign-in helper. If it cannot resolve the issue, choose Get Help and then Contact Support when offered.^4^

Support agents cannot directly change account details or manually send password-reset links. For a locked account requiring reinstatement, the form presented during sign-in is the supported review route.^1^

Do not post your email address, verification codes, recovery phone number, or screenshots containing those details in this public forum.
