    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out about your OneDrive upload sync issue. Just to confirm, are these files shared with others in your organization? Shared permissions can sometimes affect the upload process.

The circle icon means OneDrive is trying to sync. Please check the same files in OneDrive Online and review the Version History to see if your desktop changes appear there.

Could you also check whether this happens in one specific folder or occurs randomly across multiple folders?

Lastly, ask if anyone else in your company is experiencing similar upload issues. This can help determine if the problem is isolated or widespread.

The blue circular arrows mean OneDrive is still syncing or is stuck processing changes. Since downloads from colleagues still work but local changes are not uploading, the most useful fixes are to refresh the local OneDrive sign-in and sync state.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Make sure OneDrive is running and signed in
      • In Windows, check the OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area.
      • If it is missing, open Start and launch OneDrive.
    2. Check whether the account can still upload
      • An Upload blocked issue can happen when a Microsoft 365 app is signed in with an account that does not have permission to upload files to OneDrive.
      • Re-add OneDrive as a service if needed.
    3. Clear old OneDrive sign-in settings on Windows
      • Press Windows key + R.
      • Enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\settings
      • Select OK.
      • Delete PreSignInSettingsConfig.json.
      • Then start OneDrive again.
    4. Resolve file conflicts if they exist
      • If OneDrive detects a conflict between the local and server copy, upload may not complete normally.
      • For Office files, open the file in the Office app and use the conflict resolution options:
        • Save a Copy
        • Discard
      • For non-Office files, OneDrive may keep both versions and append the device name to one file.
    5. Update OneDrive to the latest version
      • Install the latest Windows updates.
      • Download and install the latest OneDrive version.
    6. Uninstall and reinstall OneDrive if the problem continues
      • This is a supported fix when clearing credentials does not help.
      • Files are not lost by uninstalling OneDrive; they remain available in OneDrive online.
    7. Reduce local sync load if the folder is very large
      • Use Files On-Demand or choose only the folders that need to sync to the computer.
      • This can help when the local disk has duplicate copies and is becoming difficult to manage.
    8. If this is a work or school account and sync still fails
      • Contact the organization’s IT helpdesk or admin.
