Problem description

I am trying to deploy an Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server in the East US region. When I check SKU availability using the Azure CLI command "az postgres flexible-server list-skus -l eastus", it returns the message "Provisioning is restricted in this region," indicating I cannot currently provision resources in East US for my subscription. I want to understand why this restriction exists and how I can gain access to deploy in this region.

Environment

Service: Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server; Target region: East US; Planned deployment: 1 server; Compute tier/SKU: General Purpose, Standard_D4ds_v5; Storage: 256 GiB; High availability: zone-redundant; Backup: geo-redundant; Networking: private endpoint; Subscription context: standard Azure subscription.

What I've already tried

I checked SKU availability in East US using the Azure CLI command "az postgres flexible-server list-skus -l eastus". The command returned the message "Provisioning is restricted in this region," which suggests a regional access restriction. I have also verified that the resource provider "Microsoft.DBforPostgreSQL" is registered in my subscription. No other troubleshooting steps have been documented.

Current status

The restriction persists, and I am seeking guidance on how to request access or resolve the regional provisioning restriction so I can deploy my PostgreSQL flexible server in East US.

On the flyout window, select Region access or Region access with zonal dependency (Availability Zones), select Location (East US), enter vCores needed, Save and continue.

Select Diagnostic option, Email/Phone, click Next, review information and click Create

You should receive an automated email in a few minutes confirming that support request has been created. Hopefully you will be contacted by Email/Phone (depending on your choice) within 1 business day.
