My Microsoft Office 2024 says "This product unavailable in your market".

The Microsoft 365 installation does not by itself cause “This product is unavailable in your market”; first check whether Office 2024 has already been redeemed, because an unredeemed key must be redeemed in the country or region where it was purchased.

Check whether the Office 2024 license is secured

1. Open Microsoft account Services & subscriptions.
2. Sign in with the Microsoft account used when purchasing or redeeming Office 2024.
3. Look for Office 2024 under your purchased products.

If Office 2024 is listed: the license has been redeemed and linked to that account. You can leave it there while using Microsoft 365; later installation or reinstallation uses that Microsoft account rather than the product key.^1^

If Office 2024 is not listed: do not simply wait for Microsoft 365 to expire. Redeem the Office 2024 key now at the setup site specified by Microsoft, signing in with the account that should own the license. Office keys must be redeemed in the country or region where they were purchased; therefore, a US key should be redeemed while located in the United States.^2^

When Microsoft 365 could be relevant

Microsoft documents a separate regional error stating that the current subscription was set up in another country or region. If that is the exact or expanded message you receive:

1. Try redeeming the key at https://microsoft.com/redeem.
2. If that fails, contact Microsoft Support.^2^

Only in that documented cross-region subscription scenario does Microsoft suggest either:

• redeeming the key with a different Microsoft account, or
• waiting until at least one day after the differently-regioned Microsoft 365 subscription expires before redeeming it with the same account.^2^

That workaround is not the general solution for every “unavailable in your market” message.

When you are ready to use Office 2024

Redeeming the license and installing the applications are separate operations. You can secure the license now without immediately replacing Microsoft 365.

When the Microsoft 365 subscription ends:

1. Back up any important files as a normal precaution.
2. In Windows, open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
3. Uninstall Microsoft 365.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Return to Services & subscriptions, find Office 2024, and select Install.

Removing the Office applications does not remove your Word documents or Excel workbooks. Removing the existing Microsoft 365 installation first can also prevent activation conflicts when switching to Office 2024.^3^

If the US-purchased key still produces the market error while you are physically redeeming it in the United States, contact Microsoft Support or the seller with the purchase receipt and exact error text. Do not publish the product key in a support post.
