How can I change the font color in the search bar? It is now white and I can't see it!

Thanks for posting here in the Microsoft Community. I understand that you are experiencing a color contrast issue caused by your theme, Dark Mode, or accessibility settings. To help me pinpoint exactly what is causing the text to blend into the background, could you let me know if this white text issue started right after you changed your device's theme, turned on Dark Mode, or updated your system?

Set Microsoft Edge to the Light theme so the address/search bar uses a light background with readable dark text.

    1. In Edge, select Settings and more (…).
    2. Select Settings → Appearance.
    3. Under Theme or Overall appearance, select Light rather than Dark or System default.
    4. Close and reopen Edge if the search-bar text does not update immediately. Edge provides theme choices but does not document a separate font-color control for its address/search bar.^1^

    If the text remains white

Windows 10 High Contrast may be overriding Edge’s colors:

    1. Open Start → Settings → Ease of Access → High contrast.
    2. If Turn on high contrast is enabled, turn it Off.
    3. Return to Edge and check the search bar again.

You can also toggle High Contrast with Left Alt + Left Shift + Print Screen.^2^

If you need High Contrast enabled, use the colored rectangles under Choose a theme to set contrasting Text and Background colors, then select Apply.^2^

If only one website’s search box is affected—not Edge’s top address bar—the website controls that text color. Edge’s Immersive Reader can adjust fonts and themes on supported pages, but it does not apply to every website.^3^
