Disable power saving for the Bluetooth adapter first, because Microsoft specifically recommends this when Bluetooth repeatedly disconnects and the symptom occurs as playback becomes idle.^1^
1. Disable Bluetooth power saving
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Identify the actual adapter—not the speaker or Microsoft enumerator. Its name will usually contain a hardware vendor name such as Intel, MediaTek, or Realtek.
- Right-click the adapter and select Properties.
- Open Power Management.
- Clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
- Select OK, then restart the laptop.
- Play something, stop playback for several minutes, and start another video to test the idle transition.
Also turn off Energy saver from the taskbar battery menu while testing. If the Power Management tab is absent, skip this step rather than changing unrelated devices.
2. Install the FX507-specific ASUS Bluetooth driver
Since updating through Windows Update did not help, use the Bluetooth driver ASUS provides for the exact FX507 variant. Microsoft notes that Windows can report the best driver is installed even when the PC manufacturer has a newer one.^2^
- Press Win + R, enter
msinfo32, and note the complete System Model.
- Open the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 download page and select the exact model/variant shown in System Information.^3^
- Choose Windows 11, download the listed Bluetooth driver, and install it.
- Restart Windows using Start → Power → Restart.
- Test whether the speaker remains connected between tracks or videos.
Do not install a package for a different FX507 suffix; ASUS also provides its Bluetooth troubleshooting procedure for Windows 11/10.^4^
3. If it still disconnects, cleanly reinstall the adapter
- Keep the downloaded ASUS driver available locally.
- Open Device Manager → Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device → Uninstall.
- Choose Start → Power → Shut down.
- Wait several seconds, turn the laptop back on, and allow Windows to detect the adapter.
- If it does not reappear, open Device Manager and select Action → Scan for hardware changes.
- Install the downloaded ASUS Bluetooth driver and restart.
That shutdown-and-redetection sequence is Microsoft’s documented adapter-reinstallation procedure.^5^
After reinstalling, remove and pair the speaker again through Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices → the speaker’s three-dot menu → Remove device, then select Add device → Bluetooth. Removing it earlier is unlikely to address the adapter’s idle behavior, so do this only after the driver reset.
4. Remaining checks
If the issue continues:
- Press Win + R, enter
services.msc, right-click Bluetooth Support Service, and select Restart.^1^
- Run Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Bluetooth → Run.^5^
- Test another Bluetooth audio device on the laptop. If multiple speakers disconnect specifically when audio becomes idle, report that result, the full FX507 model suffix, Bluetooth adapter name, and installed driver version to ASUS support.
- If only this speaker fails after the adapter and driver work above, check whether the speaker manufacturer provides a firmware update.
