Open the Microsoft My Access portal directly, review the pending SAP SE guest-access request, and select Approve if you still need access or Deny if you do not.
Why you received the email
SAP SE has added your account as a guest in its Microsoft Entra tenant, typically to provide access to a group, application, Teams/SharePoint resource, or access package. Organizations use access reviews to periodically confirm that external users still need that access. Microsoft Entra sends the review email when the review starts and specifies its due date.^1^
The deadline is the end of the review period configured by SAP SE’s tenant administrator; it is not necessarily a Microsoft 365 subscription or payment deadline.
Action to take
Avoid relying on the email link until the message has been validated. Instead:
- Open
https://myaccess.microsoft.com/ directly in your browser.
- Sign in with the same account that received the message. Personal accounts can also be invited as guest accounts in an organization’s Microsoft Entra tenant.^2^
- Select Access reviews in the left menu.
- Open the review associated with SAP SE.
- Choose:
- Approve if you recognize SAP SE, have a valid business relationship, and still require the listed access.
- Deny if you no longer need it.
- Enter a business justification if requested, then select Submit.
You can change the decision until the review ends. A denial normally takes effect when the review closes or when its results are applied, rather than immediately.^3^
If no SAP SE review appears in My Access, do not use the email link. Ask your SAP SE sponsor, project contact, or IT/security contact to confirm that the review was issued to your address.
What happens if you take no action
The precise result depends on how SAP SE configured the review. Microsoft Entra allows the administrator to set unanswered reviews to:
- No change
- Remove access
- Approve access
- Take recommendations
If automatic application is enabled, the configured result is applied after the review period ends.^4^
Possible consequences include:
- Removal from only the SAP SE group or application being reviewed.
- Loss of all resources supplied by an access package, if that package is what is being reviewed.
- For a guest-only review configured for tenant cleanup, the account can be blocked from signing in to the SAP SE tenant for 30 days and then deleted from that tenant.^4^
This affects the guest access that SAP SE controls; it does not normally delete or disable your account in your own employer’s tenant or your personal Microsoft account.
Because the email alone does not reveal SAP SE’s configured “no response” setting, only SAP SE’s administrator or review owner can confirm the exact consequence for this review.
