Surface Laptop 7 (Snapdragon): won't charge or boot, logo flashes then black

It ran until the battery died. Since then it won't charge or start. On the USB-C chargers I've tried and either port, it shows the logo for about 2 seconds, goes black and repeats a few times, then stays off until the charger is unplugged and replugged.

The official charger's light is solid white. 12 hours plugged in made no difference, and a 20-second power-button hold didn't change it.

Has anyone seen this and got it working without a repair? I already have a warranty service order open.

    1. Disconnect the charger and all peripherals.
    2. Connect the original Surface charger directly to a wall outlet.
    3. Press Volume Down + Power together. Release Power when the Surface logo appears, but continue holding Volume Down.
    4. See whether the UEFI screen appears.

If UEFI appears, the device is at least reaching firmware, which helps narrow down the problem. If it repeatedly shuts down before reaching UEFI, a hardware power or battery fault becomes more likely.

My recommendation: Since you already have a warranty service order open, don't attempt a USB recovery or reinstall Windows yet. Neither is likely to solve a failure to maintain power, and you should avoid unnecessary risks before warranty inspection.

Given the symptoms and the steps already tried, the remaining supported actions are limited.

    1. Disconnect all accessories, including USB devices, external displays, Type Cover, and any dock.
    2. Use the power supply designed for the Surface and leave it connected for at least 15 minutes. A solid white light on the official charger indicates the connector light is on, which means the power connector is detecting a connection.
    3. Try the display wake shortcut with a keyboard attached: Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B.
    4. Try another forced restart: press and hold the power button until the logo screen appears, about 20 seconds. If Windows is reachable at any point, use Start > Power > Shut down, then hold the power button for 20 seconds.
    5. If charging through USB-C, confirm the charger is USB-C PD and provides at least the same wattage as the power supply designed for the Surface.

Important: do not remove the battery driver on Surface Pro X because the documented warning says restoring it requires a full reset. That warning is specific to Surface Pro X, not Surface Laptop 7, and no context here confirms that step for this exact model in a no-boot state.

Based on the documented guidance, if the device still will not charge or start after the above checks, the next step is service. Since a warranty service order is already open, that aligns with the supported path. The Microsoft Q&A content in the context also describes similar battery/power behavior as likely hardware-related rather than a Windows issue.
