Install the Windows 11 audio driver made for your exact Dynabook Satellite Pro model, then restart the laptop so Windows can restore both speaker and microphone devices.
1. Install the correct Dynabook driver
- Find the laptop’s exact model or part number on its bottom label.
- Open Satellite Pro Support and select that exact model: ^1^
- Select Windows 11, then download the available Audio driver from Drivers & Updates. Satellite Pro models can use different audio hardware, so do not install a driver intended for another Satellite Pro model.
- Run the downloaded installer.
- Select Start → Power → Restart. Do not only shut down and turn it back on.
- After restarting, open Settings → System → Sound. Check that:
- The laptop speakers appear under Output.
- The built-in microphone appears under Input.
Dynabook also provides its general model lookup on the Drivers & Software Support page.^2^
2. If Dynabook does not list an audio driver
Check Windows Update because Microsoft recommends it as the normal driver-delivery method:
- Open Settings → Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install all available driver updates, including any audio-related optional or recommended update.
- Restart the computer.^3^
Then open Device Manager and use the controls that detect missing hardware:
- Select View → Show hidden devices.
- Select Action → Scan for hardware changes.
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- If an audio device appears but is disabled, right-click it and select Enable device.
3. If an audio device appears but still does not work
Reinstall it only if an audio device is now listed:
- In Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click the audio device and select Uninstall device.
- Confirm the removal. If offered, select Attempt to remove the driver for this device.
- Restart the laptop. Windows will attempt to reinstall the device automatically.
- If it remains missing, return to Device Manager and select Action → Scan for hardware changes.^4^
Save schoolwork before restarting. Do not uninstall unrelated devices such as display, network, or Bluetooth controllers.
4. Confirm microphone access after the device returns
Once the microphone appears under Settings → System → Sound → Input:
- Open Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone.
- Turn on Microphone access.
- Turn on Let apps access your microphone and Let desktop apps access your microphone.
- Return to Settings → System → Sound → Input, select the microphone, and run Start test.^4^
If the correct Dynabook package installs successfully but no audio controller appears after restarting and scanning for hardware changes, contact Dynabook support or your school’s IT department. Provide the exact model/part number and explain that neither the internal speakers nor microphone is detected; hardware or firmware inspection may then be required.
