Hello,

I’m looking for assistance with removing an old PC from Microsoft Family Safety. The PC has been completely reset, and all user data has been cleared. I have also removed the device from the Devices section of my Microsoft Account, but it continues to appear in Microsoft Family Safety.

I have also tried removing myself from the Microsoft Family Group and re-adding myself after 24 hours, but this has made no difference.

Could you please advise how I can permanently remove this device from Microsoft Family Safety, as it no longer exists as an active device?

Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi @Minecraft Gaming

You can try these workarounds first:

    1. Sign in to Microsoft Family Safety as the family organizer.
    2. Select the affected family member and temporarily turn off Activity reporting for Windows devices.
    3. Remove any screen-time or app limits associated with the old PC, then sign out of Family Safety.
    4. Clear the browser cache or use a private window, sign back in, and re-enable activity reporting.
    5. If the reset PC is still available under its new installation, open Command Prompt and run: schtasks /run /tn "\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\FamilySafetyRefreshTask"

Then restart the PC and allow some time for the Family Safety information to refresh.

Hope this helps, please feel free to give me an update
