It seems I've got 2 personal learn accounts. This one and one from the last time I took the exam. I'd like to merge them

I sat for and failed the AZ-104 exam last year the details for that registration are

Candidate: Douglas John Barclay Paice
Candidate ID: ‎MS1100829979‎
Registration ID: 518520064

I can still log in with it using the user name baralong

I have registered to retake the exam with this account (login ******@gmail.com) and the details are:

Candidate: Douglas John Barclay Paice
Candidate ID: ‎MS1101675143‎
Registration ID: 549603053

Is there any way to consolidate these? Transfer details and exams from one to the other?

Thanks,

Doug Paice

If both Learn profiles each contain a personal Microsoft account, they cannot be merged through the self-service process; submit a Credentials Support request to have the duplicate certification profiles and exam records reviewed.

1. Check whether self-service merging is available

Sign in to each profile separately, then:

  1. Select the profile icon in the upper-right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Under Account Management, inspect the attached login accounts.
  4. Determine whether both profiles have a personal Microsoft account or whether one uses only a work/school account.

A merge is supported only when one of the two profiles contains a personal Microsoft login account. A resulting Learn profile can contain only one personal account, although it can contain up to five work/school accounts.^1^

2. If only one profile has a personal account

Choose the profile that you want to retain, preferably the one containing the personal account:

  1. Sign in to that Learn profile.
  2. Select the profile icon → Settings.
  3. Under Account Management, select Add login account.
  4. Sign in using the login account attached to the other Learn profile.
  5. Because that login is already associated with another profile, Learn should initiate a Profile Merge.^2^

The merge:

  • Combines learning progress, credentials, certification data, and transcripts.
  • Removes duplicate learning content.
  • Retains all associated login methods.
  • Cannot be undone.^1^

Afterward, open Profile → Credentials → Certifications and check that the certification and exam history appears under the consolidated profile.

3. If both profiles have personal accounts—or exam records remain separate

Submit a case through Credentials Support rather than ordinary Microsoft account support:

  1. Open the Credentials Support page and select online support request.
  2. Confirm:
    • Product family: Learning
    • Product or Service: Microsoft Credentials
    • Type of Support: Professional No Charge
    • Preferred contact method: Email
  3. Explain that two Learn/certification profiles exist and that an earlier AZ-104 exam attempt and a new appointment are assigned to different profiles.
  4. Supply both Learn Usernames, candidate identifiers, registration identifiers, and screenshots privately in the support case. The Learn Username is available under Profile → Settings → Personal info, username, and URL.
  5. Ask support to consolidate or correctly associate the certification and exam records before the scheduled retake.^3^

Do not post candidate or registration identifiers publicly; remove them from any public Q&A post where possible.
