Sysinternals recently released Process Explorer v17.2 (a.k.a. v17.2.0.0) on 15-Oct-2026.

Software updater utilities like UCheck and QuickInstaller are unable to recognize that the previous Process Explorer v17.14 (a.k.a. v17.14.0.0, rel. 10-Sep-2026) is outdated because v17.14.0.0 is seen as a higher version number than v17.2.0.0.

This problem would not have occurred if the latest Process Explorer released on 15-Oct-2026 had been numbered v17.20 (a.k.a. v17.20.0.0), which is higher than the previous v17.14.0.0.

NOTE: When I unzip the ProcessExplorer.zip file on my removable USB stick I delete procexp.exe and procexp64a.exe and only keep the 64-bit procexp64.exe.
