Submit an Azure for Students verification support request because the institutional email is already being used correctly and the remaining eligibility or domain-recognition check requires Microsoft review.^1^
Before submitting the request
Confirm only the prerequisites that have not already been established:
- You are at least 18.
- UCI is your accredited, degree-granting institution.
- You are currently a full-time student.
- You have not previously redeemed Azure for Students through another Microsoft identity.
Azure for Students permits one subscription per eligible customer and requires verification through the institution’s email address.^2^
Then retry once in an InPrivate/incognito browser window:
- Sign out of every Microsoft account.
- Open a private browser window.
- Start the Azure for Students enrollment.
- Sign in only with the institutional Microsoft account associated with the UCI address.
- Ensure the Microsoft account’s country/region is consistent with the information entered during enrollment.
This isolates saved sessions where a personal Microsoft account may be selected instead of the university account.^3^
Request a private eligibility review
If the same message remains, use the Microsoft Education Support page and request an Azure for Students eligibility/University ID review.^4^
Include:
- Institution name and country
- Official email domain, without posting the full address publicly
- Exact error: “Unable to confirm your University ID”
- Date and approximate time of the attempt
- Screenshot of the error
- Confirmation that you are a currently enrolled full-time student
- A request to check whether:
- the institution’s email domain is recognized for Azure for Students;
- a previous redemption is associated with another Microsoft identity; or
- an account or country/region mismatch is blocking activation.
Keep proof of enrollment or a student ID available, but provide it only through the private support case—not in Microsoft Q&A.^5^
If an Azure portal account is available, another route is Azure portal → ? (Help) → describe the verification issue → Create a support request. Subscription-management support is available without a paid technical support plan, although portal ticket creation can require suitable account or subscription permissions.^6^
The Azure Advisor tag is not relevant to student-offer verification; this is an Azure account/subscription eligibility issue.
