ZoomIt DemoMirror does not currently provide a setting to select or prioritize its target monitor; Microsoft is tracking this exact enhancement in an open feature request. ^1^
Current behavior
The documented DemoMirror controls let you choose the source being mirrored:
-
Ctrl+9— full-screen mirroring -
Ctrl+Shift+9— select a screen region -
Ctrl+Alt+9— mirror the window under the pointer - Track window region — keep the mirrored window aligned as it moves or resizes
However, the settings do not include a target-display selector or preferred monitor order. DemoMirror is documented only as sending the mirrored content to “a second monitor.” ^2^
Consequently, selecting a region can control what is captured, but not which monitor receives the mirrored output.
Virtual displays and Region to Share
Compatibility with virtual areas or displays created by tools such as Region to Share is not documented. Windows distinguishes physical/recognized display monitors from the larger virtual-screen coordinate space formed by those monitors, so an application would need explicit logic to enumerate and select an output target. ^3^
The existing feature request asks for manual target selection—for example, always using display 3 regardless of whether the source is on display 1 or 2. Add the virtual-output requirement there, including:
- Whether Region to Share appears in Settings → System → Display as a numbered display.
- The desired physical or virtual target.
- Whether the selection should persist between ZoomIt sessions.
- The current three-monitor arrangement and which monitor DemoMirror chooses instead.
That issue is currently open and marked for triage, so there is no documented configuration change that enables the requested behavior yet. ^1^
