Install the latest Windows 11 cumulative update first; Microsoft has already released Windows support for British Columbia’s permanent UTC−7 change, so Feedback Hub is needed only if the BC option remains unavailable afterward.^1^
Update and select the BC time zone
- Open Settings → Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates, install all available cumulative updates, and restart Windows.
- After restarting, open Settings → Time & language → Date & time.
- Either:
- Turn on Set time zone automatically, with location services available; or
- Turn it off and select the new British Columbia entry manually.^3^
Do not use Yukon or Mountain Time merely because they currently display UTC−7. A time-zone selection includes regional rules and identity, not only today’s UTC offset.
To check whether the update added the new definition, open Command Prompt and run:
tzutil /l
This displays Windows’ current installed time-zone list; Windows updates populate that list through the time-zone registry data.^4^
Your Outlook selection—(UTC-07:00) Pacific Time (British Columbia)—is the documented choice. Microsoft also advises checking future and recurring meetings dated November 1, 2026 or later; changing a recurring series can reset individual exceptions.^5^
Report it if the option is still missing
If Windows is fully updated and the BC time zone still does not appear:
- Press Windows key + F to open Feedback Hub.
- Sign in so that you can search, upvote, and track feedback.
- Search for an existing report such as “British Columbia permanent UTC-7 time zone missing after October 2026 update.”
- Upvote the existing report, or select Report a problem and submit a new one.
- Include:
- Windows edition and version from Settings → System → About
- OS build from
winver - Installed update/KB number
- A screenshot of the Time zone list
- The output or absence of the BC entry from
tzutil /l
Feedback Hub is Microsoft’s official Windows channel for bugs and unexpected product behavior. For immediate troubleshooting rather than product feedback, use the Get Help app or Microsoft Support.^6^
