Copilot unable to transfer merged data into open workbook

Hi,

I am trying to merge several .xlsx files using copilot. Everything works fine until copilot tries to transfer the merged data into the requested workbook. It says: "...transferring the merged data back into your open workbook is blocked."

Both the target workbook and the merged files are on onedrive.

Is there anything I can do to enable the transfer?

Thanks!

Yes, you should be able to transfer merged data to an Excel workbook on OneDrive. If Copilot can read but not edit it, try enabling Edit mode, setting Calculation Options to Automatic, enabling connected experiences, and confirming Excel and OneDrive use the same Microsoft 365 account.
