Open Word or Excel on the Android tablet, tap your account picture in the upper-left corner, select Privacy Settings, and enable Connected experiences that analyze your content; printing from the Android Office apps requires that connected experience.^1^ ^2^
Enable printing
- Open Word or Excel.
- Tap your account picture in the upper-left corner.
- Select Privacy Settings.
- Under Connected experiences, turn on Experiences that analyze your content. If the app instead presents one overall All connected experiences switch, enable it.
- Close and reopen Word or Excel, then try Print again.
The Android privacy settings apply across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Visio, and Microsoft Copilot on that device.^1^
If the setting is missing or locked
- Work or school account: Your organization may control the option. Ask the Microsoft 365 administrator to allow connected experiences that analyze content for Office on Android. Android privacy controls are administered through Cloud Policy; policies previously assigned for Office on Windows can also apply automatically to Android.^3^
- Personal Microsoft account: Check the privacy setting while signed into the same account used by Word or Excel. Account privacy choices can roam between signed-in Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices, although disabling all non-essential connected experiences also disables that roaming service.^1^
If you do not want to enable connected experiences
Printing in Word and Excel for Android is categorized as a connected experience that analyzes content; there is no documented local-only switch that bypasses it.^2^ Transfer the document to a computer and print it from desktop Office instead.^4^
