The problem may be related to USB-C power delivery or electrical interference, rather than FortiClient or its network adapter driver.
Try:
Change the USB-C cable
Change the power source
Try another charger
Try another USB-C port

Basically haptic feedback and multi touch just dies for 20-30 seconds when plugged in but doesn't when not plugged in. I'm travelling so rely on usb c charging. I use the surface thunderbolt dock with a logitech mx mouse and keyboard when at home so don't notice
