Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Mike Gliebe,
I can understand why this is concerning, especially since the contacts disappeared immediately after the remote migration performed by Microsoft Support.
As a first check, please sign in to https://outlook.live.com/people/ with the same account and open People. If the contacts are still available there, the contact data has not been deleted, and the issue is more likely related to the account, profile, or address book configuration in classic Outlook.
If the contacts are also missing online, I would avoid creating another Outlook profile, removing the account, or importing a CSV/PST file for now. Because Microsoft Support performed the migration remotely, the safest next step is to reopen the same support case and ask the technician to verify whether classic Outlook was connected to the original Outlook profile and data file. Outlook data files can contain contacts as well as email, so the previous profile or PST file may still hold the missing information.
You can refer Microsoft Support to the official guidance for opening and locating items in an Outlook Data File and importing contacts from a PST file.
Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Forum contributors cannot access your Outlook profile, data files, or the details of the remote support session, so the support team that performed the migration is in the best position to inspect what was changed and help restore the original contact source. Thank you so much for your understanding.
