Hi @catherine pringle

I understand how concerning it can be to suddenly receive emails intended for your husband, especially after upgrading your family’s phones.

Upgrading the phones would not normally merge two separate Microsoft accounts. It is more likely that your husband’s Microsoft account was accidentally added or restored on your phone during the setup process.

Please open one of the affected emails and check the address shown in the To field. Then review the accounts added to Outlook or the default Mail app on your phone. If your husband’s account appears there, remove it and make sure only your own account is signed in.

You should also check the following settings:

  • Sign in to Outlook.com and review Settings > Mail > Forwarding and Rules. Remove any forwarding address or rule that you did not set up.
  • Sign in to your Microsoft account and open Your info > Sign-in preferences. Confirm that your husband’s email address has not been added as an alias. Microsoft account aliases share the same mailbox and account settings.
  • If neither of you made these changes, change both account passwords, review recent sign-in activity, and enable two-step verification.

Please let me know whether the emails appear inside your own mailbox or whether your husband’s mailbox is also showing in the Mail or Outlook app. This will help identify the exact cause.
