The Balanced B0 capacity is inconsistent across Microsoft surfaces, so report it through an Azure support request with both screenshots; only Microsoft can confirm the intended capacity and correct either the pricing page or portal metadata.

The public pricing table currently lists B0 as 1 GB, while the pricing overview describes the Balanced family as starting at 500 MB.^1^ A matching Managed Redis case also records the portal option as B0 (500 MB).^2^ This is therefore a genuine presentation inconsistency, not merely avoidance of decimal values.

    Report the discrepancy

    1. In the Azure portal, go to Help + support → Create a support request. Alternatively, use the Azure support request page.
    2. Select the closest available issue type for Azure Managed Redis, such as a technical, pricing, or billing question.
    3. Include:
      • Region and currency selected on the pricing page.
      • Balanced → B0 as the affected SKU.
      • Pricing-page value: 1 GB.
      • Portal deployment value: 500 MB.
      • The pricing-page screenshot and a screenshot of the portal SKU selector, if attachments are supported.
      • The date and time observed, because pricing content can vary by region and currency.
    4. Ask Microsoft to confirm the nominal provisioned capacity and effective usable capacity before purchasing and to reconcile the two published values.

A support request is preferable when an authoritative answer could affect purchasing or billing. General feedback can flag the content defect, but it might not receive a direct response or guarantee an immediate correction.

Reserved memory does not explain the difference

Azure Managed Redis reserves approximately 20% of an instance’s available memory for system operations and overhead.^3^ Consequently, a nominal 1 GB instance would not normally become 500 MB solely because of that reservation. The conflicting B0 labels still require confirmation from Microsoft.

Until Microsoft confirms the intended specification, do not size a workload on the assumption that B0 provides 1 GB of usable dataset capacity.
