Because AOL Mail works on your phone, first open it in a private browser window and then clear the computer browser’s AOL cookies and cache if the private window works.

    1. Test AOL Mail privately

    If you use Microsoft Edge:

    1. Select … in the upper-right corner.
    2. Select New InPrivate window.
    3. Sign in to AOL Mail.

InPrivate mode starts without retaining the normal window’s cookies and site data after it closes.^1^

    • If Mail works: stored browser data or an extension is probably interfering. Continue to Step 2.
    • If it still fails: try Step 3.

    2. Clear Edge’s cookies and cache

This signs you out of websites if you select cookies, so ensure you know your passwords first.

    1. In Edge, select … > History > Open history page.
    2. Select Delete browsing data.
    3. Set Time range to All time.
    4. Select at least:
      • Cookies and other site data
      • Cached images and files
    5. Select Clear now.
    6. Close Edge completely, reopen it, and sign in to AOL Mail again.

AOL recommends clearing browser cookies and cache for AOL Mail loading and sign-in problems.^2^ Microsoft documents the same procedure for pages that do not load correctly in Edge.^3^

Also confirm that cookies are enabled, because AOL sites require them to work properly.^4^

    3. Update or test another browser

    1. In Edge, select … > Settings > About Microsoft Edge.
    2. Allow any available update to install, then restart Edge.
    3. Test AOL Mail again.
    4. If it remains unavailable, try a current version of another browser, such as Chrome or Firefox.

AOL notes that outdated or unsupported browsers can prevent features from working correctly.^5^ Internet Explorer should not be used for AOL Mail.^6^

    4. Repair Edge only if AOL also fails after clearing data

    1. Close every Edge window.
    2. Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
    3. Find Microsoft Edge, select it, and choose Modify.
    4. Approve the prompt and select Repair.

Repair should not affect Edge’s browser data or settings.^3^

If you are using AOL Desktop Gold rather than AOL in a web browser, use AOL’s separate Desktop Gold troubleshooting process instead.^7^

    Hi!

Did you access AOL Mail via Outlook, or through a browser on your computer?

If you accessed it via a browser, it is likely that the site is down. It probably worked on your mobile phone because that uses an app rather than a website.
