Contact Pearson VUE Support to investigate the GH-900 scheduling error, because Pearson VUE owns appointment and scheduling support for GitHub Certification exams.^1^
Submit the scheduling issue
- Open the Pearson VUE Support link under GitHub Certifications → For Exam appointment and scheduling issues on the Credentials support page.^1^
- Report that scheduling GH-900 displays:
“We encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.”
- Attach the screenshot and provide:
- The email address associated with your certification profile.
- The approximate date and time of the failure.
- The step where it occurs, such as after selecting Schedule exam or after submitting the transfer to Pearson VUE.
- Details of any failed payment attempt. A similar case was resolved when Pearson VUE removed an account lock following a failed payment.^2^
Do not post your email address, candidate ID, payment details, or other personal information publicly in this Q&A thread.
Confirm that you are using the supported registration path
The standard process is:
- Open the GH-900 exam details page and select Schedule exam.
- Sign in to your Learn profile—Microsoft recommends using a personal Microsoft account.
- Ensure the legal name in the profile exactly matches your legal ID.
- Complete the requested address, telephone, and contact-email fields.
- Select Submit to continue to Pearson VUE and choose the appointment.^3^
Scheduling is limited to 90 days in advance, and no more than two Microsoft Certification exams can be scheduled concurrently through Pearson VUE.^3^
If Pearson VUE identifies a Microsoft Learn profile problem
Open a Credentials Support request:
- On the Credentials support page, select online support request.
- Choose:
- Product family: Learning
- Product or Service: Microsoft Credentials
- Type of Support: Professional No Charge
- Contact method: Email
- Include your Learn username, the screenshot, the error text, and the Pearson VUE case number.^1^
Credentials Support is the appropriate fallback for Learn-profile or legal-name problems; the scheduling appointment itself remains with Pearson VUE.
