Windows 10 Pro KMS activation and Consumer ESU enrollment on a personal ThinkPad X240

Hello,

I own a personal Lenovo ThinkPad X240 running Windows 10 Pro 22H2.

Windows is currently activated through the VOLUME_KMSCLIENT channel. The firmware OEM product key check returned False.

The Windows 10 ESU licensing preparation update KB5126256 is already installed, but the Consumer ESU enrollment option does not appear in Windows Update.

I use a personal Microsoft account with administrator privileges. No work or school organization is shown as connected in Windows Settings.

I would like to clarify the following:

How can I officially determine whether this device has a valid personal OEM, Retail, or digital Windows license?

Could the current KMS activation channel prevent Consumer ESU enrollment?

What is the official process for restoring a qualifying personal Windows license, if one exists?

Can Microsoft Support verify my licensing eligibility without changing the current activation first?

I do not want to modify the product key, KMS configuration, or reinstall Windows without confirming the correct licensing procedure.

Thank you for your assistance.

KMS activation channel will effectively block or prevent a device from registering for the Consumer ESU enrollment because that is a volume licence used by large organizations, not a genuine consumer licence.

Download the free ShowKeyPlus app from the Microsoft Store.

Please provide a screenshot of that app window and please hide any product key in the screenshot.
