My PC is unable to find my new headset. I have tried many things already, and I cannot think of anything more to try.

I dont think it is the headset, my phone is able to find it but my PC is not.

I have tried;

  • updating the driver
  • tried an older driver for bluetooth
  • turning bluetooth on and off
  • holding the decive up to the PC cabinet
  • restaring my computer
  • set it to automatic in device manager
  • windows is updated

Is there anything I have missed that might fix this?

The computer is not old either, it was built in 2026 with rather recent components.

Since Bluetooth is present in Device Manager and the headset is discoverable by the phone, the remaining Windows 11 checks most likely to help are these:

    1. Make sure the headset is in pairing mode the entire time the PC is searching.
      • Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
      • Confirm Bluetooth is on.
      • Put the headset back into pairing mode, then keep it close to the PC.
    2. Change Bluetooth discovery to Advanced.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
      • Under Device settings > Bluetooth devices discovery, change it from Default to Advanced.
      • Try scanning again.
    3. Remove any previous Bluetooth entry for the headset and add it again.
      • In Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices, look for any existing entry for the headset.
      • Select More options (...) > Remove device.
      • Then select Add device and try pairing again.
    4. Check that Airplane mode is off.
      • Select the Network, Sound, or Battery icons on the right side of the taskbar.
      • Verify Airplane mode is turned off.
    5. Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
      • Next to Bluetooth, select Run.
    6. Update the Bluetooth adapter driver again using Device Manager search.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
      • Restart if prompted.
    7. If that still fails, install the latest Bluetooth driver from the PC or motherboard manufacturer.
      • Windows may be using a generic or incompatible driver.
      • Manufacturer-provided Bluetooth drivers are specifically called out as important when connection problems continue.
    8. If the headset still does not appear, verify the PC hardware and Bluetooth support.
      • Microsoft notes that if Bluetooth is missing or hardware is malfunctioning, the PC manufacturer may need to provide model-specific troubleshooting or drivers.

The most relevant missed step here is usually changing Bluetooth device discovery to Advanced. That is specifically recommended when a Bluetooth device does not appear in the list.
