any recommendations would be helpful.

I’m having a problem with my profile picture. A gray circle or border appears around my picture, and both I and my friends can see it, it kinda bothers me.

I have tried changing my profile picture multiple times, using different image sizes, and clearing the app cache, but the problem still hasn’t been fixed.

    Hi @ayoush

To help narrow down the issue, please let me know:

    • Does the gray circle also appear in Teams on the web, or only in the desktop app?
    • How long ago did you change your profile picture?
    • When you check Teams on another device, such as your mobile phone, do you see the updated picture?

Profile picture changes may take some time to propagate across Microsoft 365 services. Checking Teams on your mobile device may help determine whether the updated picture is already available elsewhere.

I also tested changing my own Teams profile picture, but I couldn’t reproduce the same issue.

Since you’re using a Microsoft Teams for Education account, your account is managed by your educational institution. If the gray circle persists across devices after allowing time for the picture to update, I suggest contacting your school’s IT admin. They can check whether any organizational settings or account-related issues might be affecting how your profile picture appears. They could also try updating your profile picture from the admin side to see whether the same behavior occurs.

If you’re unsure who your IT administrator is, see How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
