The included PC Game Pass offer must be claimed through Microsoft Store → Library → Included with device, and this offer can require a valid card to enable recurring billing even though the promotional period itself is included with the PC.^1^

Fix the declined payment and claim the offer

    1. Use the correct Microsoft account
      • Open Microsoft Store.
      • Select your profile picture and sign in with the personal Microsoft account used when setting up the PC.
      • Go to Library → Included with device and select the PC Game Pass offer.
    2. Check the card details
      • Open your Microsoft account’s Payment options page.
      • Select Add a new payment method.
      • Enter the cardholder name, billing address, and postal code exactly as recorded by the bank. If the postal code is rejected, Microsoft suggests trying it with and without spaces.^2^
      • Return to Included with device and retry the claim.
    3. Check for account billing blocks
      • In Services & subscriptions, check whether another Microsoft subscription has an overdue payment.
      • Confirm the Microsoft account is not temporarily suspended and that the Xbox account has no suspension.
      • Ensure antivirus or popup blocking is not preventing the payment-confirmation window.^3^
    4. Ask the bank about the decline Ask whether it is blocking:
      • Online or international transactions
      • Recurring subscription payments
      • A Microsoft/Xbox authorization attempt
Having enough money available does not prevent a bank from declining a recurring or online transaction.

If the card and account use different countries

The Microsoft account region, Windows Store region, billing address, and card country should correspond. On Windows 11, check:

Start → Settings → Time & language → Language & region → Country or region

Also check the Microsoft account profile under Your info → Edit profile info. Change the region only if it is genuinely incorrect or you have moved long-term; Microsoft warns that Game Pass and other items obtained in one region might not work in another, and account funds do not transfer between regions.^4^

If the card is still declined

Try another supported payment method issued in the same billing country. If every valid method fails, contact Microsoft Support for an account-level billing review; community forums cannot inspect declines or promotional entitlements. Enter the payment problem, choose Get Help, and then Contact Support.^3^

Once redeemed, the subscription can be managed under Microsoft account → Services & subscriptions. If desired, turn off recurring billing there after activation; the included promotional period remains available until its displayed expiration date.
