Using Outlook for Android in business environments for email and scheduling
Hi Alexander,
Thank you for reaching out.
Bases on your description, the issue appears to occur when Outlook’s sign-in token expires and Microsoft Authenticator does not display the expected Android notification or approval prompt.
To resolve the issue, please follow these steps:
- Enable all Authenticator notifications
- Open Android Settings.
- Go to Apps > Microsoft Authenticator > Notifications.
- Turn on Allow notifications.
- Enable all available notification categories.
- If displayed, enable:
- Pop on screen
- Show as pop-up
- Floating notifications
- Lock screen notifications
- Notification sounds and vibration
- Make sure the notifications are not configured as Silent or Minimized.
- Remove battery restrictions
- Open Settings > Apps > Microsoft Authenticator > Battery.
- Select Unrestricted, No restrictions, or Don’t optimize, depending on the device.
- Allow Authenticator to run in the background.
- Temporarily turn off Battery Saver or Power Saving Mode while testing.
- Allow background data and activity
- Go to Settings > Apps > Microsoft Authenticator > Mobile data.
- Enable Background data.
- Enable Unrestricted data usage, depending on the device.
- Confirm that background activity and automatic startup are permitted for Authenticator.
I hope your issue gets resolved soon. Any updates would be greatly appreciated.
