Azure Managed Redis: Creation Failure in UK South Region — OperationFailed

Problem description

I am trying to create a Managed Redis resource named 'Balanced_B1' in the UK South region with high availability and zone redundancy enabled. The creation process fails after about 8 minutes with a status of 'OperationFailed'. I need assistance understanding the cause of this failure and how to resolve it.

Environment

Azure Managed Redis service in UK South region, SKU: Balanced_B1, high availability enabled, zone-redundant mode, public network access enabled.

What I've already tried

I attempted to create the Redis resource using Terraform with the specified configuration, and also tried directly through the Azure portal. In both cases, the deployment failed after approximately 8 minutes with a generic 'OperationFailed' status. I also tested creating similar resources with the same settings in other regions and with high availability turned off, but these did not experience issues.

Current status

The last attempt to create the Redis resource in UK South region with high availability and zone redundancy failed with 'OperationFailed'. I am seeking guidance on the underlying cause of this failure and the steps to successfully deploy the resource in this region.

    Hi,

This has been happening in recent months and is typically due to regional capacity issue. Have you tried creating Balanced B1 in other regions? For example, I just tested and was unable to create in UK South (same error), but succeeded in UK West, West Europe, Sweden Central, and West US 3 regions.

Please test to see if you are able to create in different region. I know that isn't ideal, but unfortunately you may need to deploy in different region to workaround capacity issue.

Please reply back with your results.

    Thanks.
