Because someone is also changing passwords for your cryptocurrency accounts, treat this as an active financial compromise. From a trusted device:

Run a full malware scan before entering another new password. Microsoft's guidance is to run the scan before changing the password.

Check Outlook for unfamiliar forwarding addresses, inbox rules, automatic replies, and connected accounts.
Contact each affected cryptocurrency exchange or wallet provider immediately. Ask the provider to freeze the account if that option is available. Keep a record of transaction IDs, wallet addresses, and timestamps.

Never provide a wallet seed phrase, install remote-access software, or transfer cryptocurrency to anyone claiming to be Microsoft or cryptocurrency support.

On a clean device, start the Microsoft account recovery flow immediately. If sign-in still works, change the password from the Security basics page. If sign-in does not work, use Forgot my password or the Microsoft account recovery options.
Before changing the password again, run a full malware scan on every PC used to access the account. Microsoft recommends a Full scan in Virus and threat protection > Scan options > Full scan > Scan now. This is important because malware can capture new passwords or session data.
After access is restored, review recent sign-in activity on the Security basics page and use Review activity. If any sign-in was not recognized, mark it as This wasn't me or Secure your account.
Check Outlook.com mailbox settings for persistence:
- Remove suspicious forwarding settings
- Remove suspicious rules
- Check automatic replies
- Review connected accounts
Change the password to a strong new password and update security info on the Security basics page.
Use Sign out everywhere if available, but expect it to take up to 24 hours to fully take effect.
If the account is blocked because of unusual sign-in activity, unblock it by resetting the password.
If recovery or unblocking fails, use the sign-in helper or contact support through the Microsoft support flow. Support agents cannot send password reset links or directly change account details.
Since crypto wallet access was affected, change passwords for any other accounts that use this Hotmail address for recovery after the email account is secured.
