    Hi @John Duckenfield

A feature update that keeps retrying usually fails at the same point every time. The first step is to find out where. One thing to know before you start: Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro reached end of servicing on October 13, 2026. If this PC is on Home or Pro, it's simpler to skip 24H2 and go straight to a supported version (25H2 or the new 26H2).

    1. Get the error code. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history and note the code next to the failed 24H2 install (for example 0x800f0922 or 0xC1900101). The code tells you which direction to take.
    2. Check free space. Feature updates need plenty of room on C:. Free up at least 20 GB with Settings > System > Storage > Cleanup recommendations.
    3. Repair the system files. Open Command Prompt as administrator and run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, then sfc /scannow. Restart afterwards.
    4. Remove the usual blockers. Disconnect USB drives and docks, temporarily uninstall third-party antivirus, and update storage and graphics drivers.
    5. Upgrade with a different method. Use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from Microsoft's download page. It installs the current version in place and keeps your files and apps. Back up important files first anyway.
    6. If the PC is managed by WSUS, Intune or Group Policy, check whether a target-version policy is holding it to 24H2.

Which error code shows in Update history, and is this Windows 11 Pro or Enterprise?

If the update finally goes through, please consider accepting it as the answer. If it still fails, let me know the error code and I'll be happy to keep helping.
