Hello,

I currently have several Surface Pro 1 devices, as well as the newer Surface Connect magnetic charging adapter (used with Surface Pro 3 and later models).

Since the physical connectors on these two generations are completely different, I cannot directly connect the new charger to the Surface Pro 1. I’d like to ask: Does Microsoft officially offer an adapter or cable that can convert the new magnetic charging connector to be compatible with the older Surface Pro 1’s port?

If such an accessory exists, could you please provide the specific product model or where it can be purchased? If there is no official accessory available, what alternative charging solution does Microsoft recommend?

No. Microsoft does not officially offer an adapter or conversion cable to connect a Surface Connect charger (Surface Pro 3 and later) to the original Surface Pro (1st Generation).

The two charging connectors are physically and electrically different.

The original Surface Pro uses Microsoft power supply Model 1536

Microsoft does not list a Surface Connect-to-original-Surface charging adapter in its supported accessories.

The recommended solution is to obtain the original 48W Surface power supply, Model 1536, designed for Surface Pro 1 and Surface Pro 2.
