Please bring back the Read Aloud speaker button in the Windows Copilot app!

The recent update removed the small speaker button underneath responses that allowed users to listen to the entire written answer.

I do not want to use Live Voice mode. I want to type or dictate my questions, receive a normal written response, and then press a button to have that response read aloud privately through my headphones.

This was an extremely useful accessibility and convenience feature. Please don't remove functionality that people depend on.

The same thing happened to the mobile app a couple of months ago, and now it appears to be happening to the Windows app too.

Please restore the Read Aloud button.

I am having the same issues. The voice read aloud was extremely helpful on so many levels. The new Copilot is extremely frustrating, and the restrictions are unbearable. I’ve started using DuckDuckGo’s AI instead. Please bring back the old Copilot—don’t fix what isn’t broken. I’m sure this is all about the money, but I’m not paying extra for something that won’t give me what I had before.

As I checked on my own Copilot, the Read Aloud option still exists, however, it has been moved to the more option button, which is indicated by the ellipsis below the answer. If you cannot find it, please share an image of it and let me know.

I heavily relied on the read out loud feature and the share screen feature particularly the screen shot option which was really the only two features I used/needed for what I do on my computer. If I want a read out loud I have to go through all the extra steps of using my accessibility features built in the computer which sounds robotic anyways Like it never got fixed from the 80s or something like that. And now if I want to share my screen I have to go through all the steps of making a screen shot saving it to my hard drive and then uploading it into the app which is lot of inconvenience compared to the instant screen sharing that was built into previous copilot. I am very frustrated with this update and wish it never got pushed onto my computer. Is there some way I can get the copilot that actually worked for me?

Thanks for replying.

As I checked, it seems like an unintended behavior of the Copilot apps, since it should still provide read aloud option. In this case, it'd be better if someone can directly look at your issue and check it, which forum moderators cannot do so. In this case, please contact Microsoft Support.

Regarding the upload screenshot option, I have also just checked, after taking a screenshot, you can simply paste it in the chat box normally without saving it.
