Microsoft 365 Family - members

Using OneDrive does not confirm Microsoft 365 Family membership; each daughter must complete the invitation by selecting Get started/Accept and then Join now while signed in with the exact Microsoft account that received the invitation.

Check and complete each invitation

1. As the subscription owner, open the Microsoft 365 sharing page.
2. Check each daughter’s status:
   • Pending invite means she has not completed the acceptance process.
   • A completed invitation should add her automatically to your Microsoft family group.
3. Each daughter should open her invitation and:
   1. Select Get started or Accept.
   2. Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with the invited Gmail address. A Gmail address can be registered as a Microsoft account.
   3. Select Join now to join your family group and activate the shared benefits. Simply opening OneDrive or accepting only the first screen is insufficient. Invitations must be accepted within 48 hours. If an entry remains pending and the invitation has expired, select the daughter’s name on the sharing page and choose Resend invite. Do not remove and re-add her unless resending and completing the acceptance flow fails.

If “already in a family group” appears

A person can only join the subscription owner’s family group after leaving any other family group. Once she has left the other group, she can accept your invitation again and select Join now. Also confirm that:

• Your subscription is an active Microsoft 365 Family subscription.
• You are its owner, rather than someone with whom another owner shared a subscription.

If membership appears but the additional OneDrive storage does not, wait up to two hours after acceptance, open Manage storage, and refresh the page. Each person keeps a separate OneDrive account and private files.

For privacy, remove personal email addresses from any public Q&A post; Microsoft support staff do not need them posted publicly.
