A family of Microsoft products that enable users to capture, organize, and reuse notes electronically.
The [Email] forwarding-address feature was retired in March 2025, so there is no longer an email address to configure; use Send to OneNote from Outlook for Mac instead.^1^
Send an email from Outlook for Mac to OneNote
- Open Outlook for Mac.
- Select the email in your Inbox, or double-click it to open it.
- On the ribbon at the top of the message window, select Send to OneNote.
- In the OneNote task pane, choose the destination notebook and section.
- Select Save.
The email’s subject becomes the OneNote page title, while its original date and time are retained.^2^
If the button is unavailable or grayed out
The Mac add-in requires a cloud-based OneNote notebook and a Microsoft 365 or Outlook.com account. It does not work through a personal non-Microsoft account such as Gmail.^2^
Check that:
- Outlook and OneNote are signed in with the applicable Microsoft account.
- The destination notebook is stored in OneDrive or SharePoint rather than only on the Mac.
- You are using a recent desktop version of Outlook for Mac.
This replacement saves Outlook messages directly into OneNote, but it does not provide a general-purpose forwarding address for messages sent from arbitrary email applications.
